These can be families with small children with and without prams, wheelchair users, blind and partially sighted people. On the map below you can see where the various facilities are located at the destination. With us you can fish, hike/roll, engage in water activities, go cross-country skiing, drive a snowmobile or get a horse-drawn carriage.
We have organized and developed universally designed fishing grounds, hiking trails, campsites, rest areas, attractions and national parks. We hope you find something that suits you.
This is a gem of a place and is used as a getaway both on day trips and overnight trips. Here, a universally designed lavvo, fire pan and mobi mat have been installed down to the sea, and the path there meets the requirements for a universal design both in terms of surface and width. You will also find universally designed outdoor furniture and benches there. The tour is connected to a walking path of approximately 2 km which also meets the requirements for a universal design. Here you can go jogging in beautiful nature in the summer or go skiing/spiking in record-breaking ski runs in the winter. The starting point for this facility is Johnsgård Tourist Centre, but the site can be used by everyone. Johnsgård Tourist Center also offers accommodation, available to everyone.
Gutulia National Park and Gutulisetra are now accessible to everyone. Boats enter from the jetty at the car park. The boat takes you across Gutulisjøen and into Gutulisetra. There is a hiking trail from the jetty up to the sitting room. In the summer months, you can buy waffles and coffee here. There is also access to an outdoor area and picnic benches.
The Blokkodden Wilderness Museum is an outdoor, cultural history museum with buildings and objects from Southern Sami culture, forestry, agriculture, hunting and fishing. The museum is located in an open-air area by national highway 26 on Drevsjø, and gives an insight into how people have lived in Femundsmarka. Here you can experience how people have lived, worked and lived since the first settlement in the area from the 1600th century until today. Among the cultural monuments in the area are a dozen large kølmile botners, which are believed to be from the middle of the 1700th century. This is also a popular hiking area. An adventure park is under construction at Blokkodden, behind the information house. In 1986, the museum was nominated as a Norwegian candidate for the Council of Europe's museum prize. The museum is universally designed with hiking trails, information boards, fishing spots, picnic benches, outdoor areas, lavvo and gapahuk.
The Jyltingsmarka is an area that goes by the name of "mini Femundsmarka" and an eldorado for paddlers and fishermen. At the Glen, there is now a universally designed campsite with a boat launch, wharf, log cabin, fire pit, benches, fishing area and outdoor area. There is a passenger lift on the jetty for free use to get in and out of the boat/canoe. Glen is a good starting point for getting to several lakes in the same area without having to leave the boat or canoe. As it is today, you also get to Lake Halvorsjøen from Glen. The possibilities of expanding this to more lakes will be investigated.
Femundselva Leirplass is located by the fine fishing river Femundsleva in Sølenstua. The Femundelva flows from Femund to Trysil. Here you will find a gap hut, campfire and benches. To get here, you must turn off the road at Fv 217 at Fjellheimen Leirskole and follow the road down to Elva. The campsite can be found 1.5 km north along the river.
At the border with Trysil, Røa plunges down towards Engeren in wild rapids and a total of five waterfalls with free falls of 3-18 metres. The waterfalls are called Kvennfallet, Storfallet, Styggfallet, Kløftfallet and Gittostfallet. The fall that the road leads to is Storfallet. Further down is Kvennfallet. Further up are Styggfallet, Kløftfallet and Gittosfallet. At Kvennfallet there was a mill in the old days. Lundgården in Hylleråsen had hay barrels right up to the edge at Storfallet until 1920. The upper viewing point is universally designed, but there is a slight climb from the parking lot to the viewing point (approx. 50 metres). Universally designed outdoor areas and picnic benches can be found here, and there is an arrival sign from national road 26 in Hylleråsen.
The hiking trail starts at Elgå Church and stretches 2 km out along Femundlandet. The hiking trail has rest benches at 150 meter intervals along the trail. The trail is located in beautiful surroundings on Femunden's bank. There are 2 toilets here, which are adapted for wheelchairs. The path has no obstacles or steep slopes. At the end of the path, at the outlet of the Elgåa, a wooden lavvo with benches and a wood-burning stove has been set up, which is available for free use. There are also two campfires, one midway on the path and one at the low level. This is excellent for families with small children and others who want to go out in beautiful surroundings.
Sorkodden is a headland in Femund, located in a small hamlet on the east side of the lake called Sorken. From Sorkodden you have a fantastic view of Femunden, Norway's second largest natural lake, and the surrounding mountains. A great destination in an area with a lot of cultural history. Sorkodden is a facility for which we have received funding. There is a hiking trail with cultural features, a camp site with a gap hut, picnic benches, a campfire and an outdoor area. The hiking trail starts at Vestre Sorken Feriegård, but is open to everyone. At the holiday farm, you can also get a tour of the old farm yard or visit the farm museum.
Pioner Multi is a boat with a fold-down bow gate which means that it can easily moor, regardless of the water level or landscape. This bow door also means that you can roll or walk straight onto the boat without high edges and climbing. With a multi meal on board, you suddenly have a wide range of destinations around the lake. A multi mat is a mat that is rolled from the boat out into the landscape and which means that you get a good load-bearing surface regardless of whether it is initially stones, sand or forest floor.
Outdoor life for everyone with developmental disabilities. Regardless of the season, we always adapt trips and activities to the weather, the road and the students' wishes and functional level. Fjellheimen Leirskole is owned by Engerdal municipality and run with a grant from the state. A stay lasts from Monday to Friday. We can accommodate up to 30 people per camp school week. Fjellheimen Leirskole has a stable group of staff with long experience and solid expertise in various areas within teaching outdoor life, horses, small animals, diet and diets.
