Valdalen Gård is an old mountain farm located 800 meters above sea level, between Femundsmarka and Gutulia national parks, and between Elgå by Femund and the Swedish border.

Valdalen farm has been run as a tourist business since 1946, it was then run by Martin's parents, Martin and Inga. In 1971, the main house, which is today the boarding house building, was extended. The kitchen and dining room were extended, and it was extended with a spacious living room with a fireplace. Here today there is space for approx. 60 diners at the same time.

The farm runs deer breeding. Deer rearing on the farm falls right into the local food initiative that Engerdal municipality is facilitating. Local food and locally produced raw materials are a key element for Valdal AS, this should provide good dining experiences and give us a competitive edge.

Food and menu

We can serve everything from simple home cooking to pure party menus. Everything with a focus on local products and a lot of use of game and fish, hearty home-cooked food. We have a liquor license with all rights. When ordering food, we want you to let us know if you have special wishes and needs, such as allergies and intolerances.

For hikers

For those of you who are hiking in the area and want to stay and eat with us, we serve traditional tourist hut food, where breakfast, packed lunch and three-course dinner are the most common, we use DNT's member prices. We would prefer that you contact us to order accommodation and food at least the day before.

Company

Valdalen farm is perfect for parties and celebrating special occasions. Confirmations, christenings, weddings, birthdays, Christmas parties, company parties or whatever you want. The area forms a fantastic setting for the company.
