Jyltingsmarka consists of several smaller bodies of water that are less exposed to wind than the larger lakes Isteren and Femunden. The area is well suited for families, day trips and shorter overnight trips.
The elongated Ister with its diverse headlands and beaches is described as an eldorado for canoeists. But the water is elongated and exposed to northerly winds. Waves can therefore occur at short notice, and it is recommended to take precautions.
