    Fishing in Femund Engerdal

    With just one fishing license you can fish in over 900 lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. Take the family on easily accessible fishing from land or boat, or pack your bag for week-long adventures in Femundsmarka.

    Canoeing is perfect for getting around lakes and rivers in Femund Engerdal. The 60 kilometer long lake Femund with its associated national park Femundsmarka together form one of southern Norway's last untouched wilderness areas. Here you can be out for days on land or at sea without meeting anyone. Thousands of small lakes, rivers, round mountain peaks and mysterious forests await you.

    Galtstrømmen

    The fly fishing zone is located between Galthåen and Galtsjøen. Here, in the vicinity of Galten Gård, fly fishing has long traditions.

    Engeråa

    Erling Sand and Torill Kolbu's favorite river. A small river that flows from Litj-Engeren through a beautiful cultural landscape.

    Galthodet

    The fly fishing zone Galthodet is located from the outlet of Galtsjøen and down Femundselva. Here, in the vicinity of Galten Gård, fly fishing has long traditions.

    Isterfossen

    Fly fishing zone. The outlet of the large lake Isteren, the section above the Isterfoss bridge, is reserved for fly fishermen. There is particularly good grayling fishing here.

    Buy a fishing license

    Fishing licenses are sold at most tourist companies, kiosks, petrol stations and shops in the municipality, as well as at the Tourist Office in Engerdal.

    You can also buy fishing licenses via SMS and online at inatur.no The Engerdal Mountain Board's fishing license with over 900 waters covers the entire Engerdal municipality with the exception of Lake Isteren, Ormutusjøen, Svalsjøen, Sylen's private area, Hundsjøen and Store Hyllsjøen.

    The fishing license also applies to the entire Engersjøen, including the part of the lake located in Trysil municipality, as well as the entire Langsjøen.

    Glen

    The Jyltingsmarka is an area that goes by the name of "mini Femundsmarka" and an eldorado for paddlers and fishermen.

    At the Glen, there is now a universally designed campsite with a boat launch, wharf, log cabin, fire pit, benches, fishing area and outdoor area.
